Fille de Fleur and Fancy Filigrees!

Happy Day to all! Today I am going to share a layout that I did yesterday. (I didn't complete the Christmas card... but that is why I started so early... to get them done in time!) I sat down to play with a sheet of paper that I bought recently. It is from House of Three and Pink Paislee. It's called "Fancy Filigree" and it looks like this...

So... it's basically a white sheet of paper. What you can't see is that it has a white embossed pattern on it too! As soon as I saw it I had an idea.... I wanted to introduce it to my Distress Inks! Well, yesterday they met! ...and this is what happened:
The mats and torn paper is the Fancy Filigree.
I started by inking the whole piece of paper. I used the following colors:
Spun Sugar, Tea Dye, Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, & Walnut Stain.
When you look at the mats and the torn paper you see a beautiful design in white. This is the embossed design on the paper, it resisted the Distress Inks. The background is a paper by Heidi Swapp called Wallpaper. It came with three little embellishments and that is what my title is on... I distressed the edges of everything and then inked them with Walnut Stain using my Ink Blending Tool.

 THE DETAILS:

I found a big bag of lace and ribbon at a garage sale recently.... I got it for like 2 dollars! It was a great find! I used some of the lace here. The flower is from Prima. It was all white and I used my water pen dipped into my Distress Ink Pad, Tea Dye, to add some color. You can also use this technique to color in images.

Here is my title... it translates to " Flower Girl". (That is what Google Translator says anyways! lol..)

OK! This was so fun... All the flowers are from Prima, EXCEPT the flower on the left. This is actually a paper flower that I made! I had so much fun making it and it was so easy thanks to this little guy:
Imaginisce has come out with this tool and they also have spiral circles pre-cut that you can get to start with... it is FABULOUS! I started with one of their flowers and inked it up a bit and stamped some flourishes on it. I misted it lightly with water using my mini-mister to make the paper easier to work with. I then just rolled it up and made this awesome flower! SO EASY! I love how this grouping just came together! And the star is my flower!

Well I am off to clean, bake, & then scrap.
Have a happy happy day!
