...trying new things...

Happy Tuesday!
Today I am sharing a layout I did using beeswax... yes, beeswax! I have seen it out there... and seen it used on projects, BUT I have never used it... until now!

I used a beautiful paper line from Kaiser Craft, Madame Boutique. I then pulled out one of my favorite new stamps from 100 Proof Press Big Fern Frond, and stamped the top half in various colors of Adirondack Ink I also stamped on my scraps and fussy cut to create an embellishment.

Now... for the beeswax!
Using a method I read about over at The Purple Mailbox, (LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog!)
I just used a glass bowl and melted it with my heat gun, and then just poured!

I really was pleased with how it turned out... though I will say, at first, I was a little uncertain...
...as you can see I placed pearls randomly throughout the layout.

I used a black pen and doodled around some of the wax drops...

Here is the accompanying layout:
I used the We R Memory Keepers system with some of my scraps to create this.

I truly recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying new techniques and styles.

Happy Creating!

12 x12 with 6 x 6

Hello! So I went into my studio this weekend and started playing... I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do, but I started with the following supplies:
Once I applied my modeling paste, I then sprayed it with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine...
 I ended up with this...

I then remembered that Simon Says Stamp & Show was having a great little challenge! So I pulled out a fabulous 6x6 pad I bought awhile back...
Christy Tomlinson - She Art Collection

While my modeling paste was drying, I started playing with my layout arrangement....
hmmm:

and once it was all said and done, this is what I came up with...

I recommend checking out Simon Says Stamp & Show weekly.. They have fun challenges and I am always inspired!

Happy Creating!

You're one of a kind...

Hello! I just wanted to share a fun card I made for my friend for her graduation...
I used the "Graduating Monkeys" stamp from 100 Proof Press. I just adore this stamp! I had a lot of fun working with it too!!!

The inside of the card reads"
"Leave a legacy! You were born to stand out!"

Happy Creating!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday and had a fabulous Mother's Day. Here I am with my Mom. She is holding up her gift I made her....

Here are some close ups... It was a tray that I bought at Hobby Lobby.

This is one of my Mom's favorite Bible verses:

Enjoy your evening and wishing you a splendiferous week ahead...
