It's so fire...

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and a not so manic Monday! Today I have another layout from The Used show I went to see... I have one more layout and then I will be done with this event! That sounds awful, I know... I have had a lot of fun scrapping this event, but I recently got pictures developed and I am really eager to scrap them too...

So here is my layout:
I started with shimmer paint, added some altered Tissue Paper, Mist, and more...

For my photo I had 2-5 x 7 pictures and cut them up and pop dot them to each other. I then matted a 4 x 6 and pop dotted it to the "mosaic" 5 x 7.

Here is closer look at my title:

I used Thickers for "they're"... but I sanded them a bit, sprayed them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine and then outlined them with my Pitt pen from Faber-Castell. The "fire" was cut from my Silhouette Cameo using a real funky font.

Stay tuned... a lot of fun is coming since I have teamed up with Genuinely Jane Studios and am now on their design team...

Happy Creating!
XOXO

...I'm just a ticking time bomb...

Hello! Today I have a very interesting layout to share with you. It is a subject that I have wanted to scrap for awhile... Life isn't always pleasant. We all have things that we have to deal with that we wish just wasn't a part of our life... well... Kidney Stones are something that I have to deal with... quite often!

This year when I went to get the latest one taken care of, I was able to bring my phone back. I snapped this picture of myself. CRAZY! I know. Who wants a picture like this.....!?

But this layout reminds me that I need to just take it and be positive! I have gone through it and have been negative and that is no way to handle it.... It isn't going to make it go away! So, I smile, take care of it... and then move on. ...and then start paying the medical bills!

While cleaning out some stuff, I came across my old cat scans and instantly got this idea...
Yep! this is a layout made of cat scans.... The 12 x 12 is a cat scan that I cut down to size. I brushed Silks Acrylic Glaze by Lumin Arte on to the cat scan.

I also brushed the Silks on to some smaller pieces and then ran through my Sizzex with the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die. I layered them with pop dots...

The numbers were created using my Silhouette Cameo... I then added the main title with some little sticker letters, "kidney stones suck!" haha!

I had some things to say.... so I created a pocket to hide a tag... a tag that was made from a cat scan!
The little strips you see on the picture actually are parts of the cat scan that have my name and doctor's office on them!

So... When the going gets tough and things just are in the "blah" zone... look for the positive! ...and maybe an interesting way to scrapbook them!

Happy Creating....

Dinner with Babes

Happy Friday... well almost. It's Thursday night here... but we will start Friday celebrations early!

I am sharing a layout today that I did this week using some Teresa Collins Summer Stories paper, modeling paste, spray inks, and so much more!

It all started with some modeling paste. I added some shimmer and silver paint to it....

I cut my title using the Silhouette Cameo. While everything was still on the mat, I inked it up!

Then I created a tag with ink, stamping and some scraps. This was the foundation for my title:

This is one of my favorite elements on my layout... I used my Melting Pot and Black UTEE. After the UTEE was melted I poured it onto my Craft Mat and then stamped into it with one of my favorite Memory Box stamps. When doing this technique, you want to remember to always coat your stamp really well with VersaMark.

Here is a side view to better show the textures...
The numbers going across the bottom of the layout were punched out of the paper with the Epiphany punch and then I used their domes to give them the dimension!

Wishing you a fantastic, fabulous, friendly Friday! ...and a weekend full of happy and creating!

A Little Mixed Media

Happy Day! Today I have a layout to share with you that I did over the weekend. It was a lot of fun. Very much a mixed media layout.... I started with a sheet of paper from Basic Grey's Out of Print line, (This is one of my all time favorite lines!), and some Tim Holtz Tissue Paper that I inked up. Using a Crafter's Workshop Stencil and some Course Texture Gel...

I was able to create quite the textured background:

The Silhouette Cameo was used to create my title. The font used was SNF Simon Says Inside Out.

...and now behold... My Layout:

I love all kinds of paper crafts.. but Mixed Media layouts are some of my favorite to do... In fact I just got several new happies to play with...

2. Gloss Gel Medium
3. Dylusions Ink Spray - (I am loving this stuff!)

I am looking forward to playing with all this stuff and sharing with you!

Here is a sneak peak of the layout that I have for you tomorrow:
Melting Pot, Stamping, & Perfect Pearls... details tomorrow! ;)

Until then... Happy Creating!

Release the... PageMap Sketch

Hello! I am back and feeling so creative and good! I just spent the weekend with my dear friends scrapping away at a lake house! Here we are after dinner Friday night....

I want to share a layout that I did for the PageMaps sketch challenge going on over at the PageMaps Blog. Here is the sketch:

...and this is what I came up with....

I used the My Mind's Eye, Kate & Co. line. Using my Silhouette Cameo & the Sketch Pens, I created my title. The Cameo also was used to cut out the stars. I used the lyrics from a song to form my swirls.
The background was created with a mask and Dylusions Ink Spray.

We went to see Red play in Little Rock, that is where this picture was taken. The title and lyrics are from one of their songs.

Wishing you a happy week full of blessings & creativity...
