Horror! Rocky Horror that is....

Happy Hump Day! Downhill from here, right!? Today I have a little bit of horror to share with you... Rocky Horror that is! Here is the first layout that I did for this event. I can't wait to do more because we had such a fun time! ...and it was my first time to ever see the movie. I am going to enter this little bit of horror over at Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge. They are having an "Anything Goes" challenge this week.

It all started with a fun piece of paper and some ink:
I misted with red Dylusions Spray and black & silver Heidi Swap Color Shine mists and then splattered some red Glimmer Glaze throughout the background.

...and here it is all together & finished!

The Details:

I used a pail to trace a circle onto my layout, in pencil. Using Ranger's Enamel Accents, in black, I went over the circle. When I got to where I wanted it to end, I just did a little free hand swirl.

Using the Enamel Accents I wrote "Transylvania" along my circle. The date is below in silver.

This is one of my favorite parts... I used two pictures, they are both the same, on my layout. The one in the back is covered in Tim Holtz Frosted Film. (I LOVE this stuff!) Do you see the shimmer over the picture? The shimmer you see in the background is from the Color Shine mist. (...another fave product right now...)

I enjoyed my trip to Transylvania... and can't wait to go back!

Make sure you check out Simon Says Stamp, there is a great prize up for grabs.
Until next time... Happy Creating!
XOXO- Christine

Project Life Start....

Well it finally peaked my interest... Project Life. I have seen it for quite awhile online and my friends have done some amazing things with it as well... and I am finally ready to drink the kool-aid! Of course, I am going to spike it with my own little twists. I have seen several different templates online to track your week and downloaded a few, but I started out with just a sheet of notebook paper....

I listed out my upcoming week and then just random stuff I want to include in my Project Life album....
  • quotes
  • lyrics
  • what I am listening to that week, my playlist
  • instagram pics
  • diet & exercise stuff
  • horoscopes
  • Daily Truthbombs
  • things from facebook
  • weekly goals
I am very much looking forward to it. I will share my pages as I go, of course! Do you do Project Life? I would love to see! Leave a link in the comments....

Happy Creating!

Finding Her Wings

Happy Monday! I am here with Genuinely Jane Studios and I have a mixed media layout to share with you today. It was inspired by the challenge that they have going on right now: Using something non-traditional on your layout. ...and I did just that. I used a page from the Genuinely Jane Studios Angel Wings Wood Album. Here is what I created...

Look closely... See the angel wing? It is a piece of wood! I painted it with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint in Purple Palette and Adirondack Paint Dabber in Purple Twilight. After that dried, I went over it with Tattered Angels Glitter Glam in Tide Pool.

I used papers from the Teresa Collins line, "Tell Your Story". This is how it started...
I drew hexagons onto the paper and colored them in with Faber-Castell Gelatos. Once dried, I went over them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Icicle.

Next, a little ink splatter was in order, so I used a mini-mister with Distress Spray that I made using my Peacock Feathers Re-Inker. The title was created using Heidi Swapp Color Magic letters and me painting.

There is journaling throughout the layout. All being quotes that I really like.

I used scraps from the same paper line and a transparency with music notes to create the grouping behind my photo. Oh, and of course a little bling!

...and it all just came together...

I hope that your Monday is a great kick start to a fabulous week. Check out the challenge and see what you can create... enter for a chance to win.

Happy Creating!

All Things Altered Blog Hop

Hello! Happy Firday! ...and welcome to my stop on the All Things Altered Fall/Halloween Blog Hop. If you have been hopping along then you just came from our fabulous host Pam at Scrapbook Flair. If you want to start at the beginning then click HERE!

A few months ago I got this castle from my friend. It was leftovers from her garage sale. I saw it and immediately had an idea..

I sanded it down, primed it and then with a little paint and texture medium...

The details:
I used the metal air duct tape that you would buy in a hardware store and adhered it to paper and then ran it through my the texture boutique. I then cut them into squares to form the shingles for my roof.

I painted bricks and stones on the castle.

I have it on my mantle as a Halloween decoration...

I hope that you have enjoyed my spooky little castle. Now hop on over to Barbara at Black Hole Art Studio and see what inspiration she has in stored for you!

...a little ink, a little paper...

Happy Monday! I hope the weekend treated you well. My creative juices have been overwhelming the last few days. Here is a layout that I did this weekend. Lots of ink....

It started with one sheet of pattern paper and one sheet of cardstock...
I fussy cut the lower left and upper right corners of the patterned paper, and then pieced it back together on the sheet of cardstock. This is a little trick I use when I only have one sheet of the patterned paper.

I used My Mind's Eye "Find Your Wings & Fly"

I used my Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn & Picked Raspberry and stencils to create my background.

The details...

...until next time... Happy Creating!

NOW! I am excited to share with you my project...

These are Svedka Vodka bottles that I have been saving to alter. I am going to use them for candle stick holders and/or vases.  For this project, I used the Genuinely Jane Studios Dress Form . I altered two of the pieces with ribbon, paint, Glimmer Glam, and more. The bottles I painted using a black acrylic paint with iridescent medium. The wings were made using fabulous alterable pieces from Linnie Blooms: Canvas Sunflowers & Canvas Leaves.

On this one, I used the Linne Blooms Canvas Birds to create her little top.

From the side you can see this awesome mesh ribbon from Linne Blooms. It comes in a canvas color so you can spray and ink to your delight!!!

Here they are as spooky candle holders!

And because we love our followers, each company has generously offered up a prize! Two lucky winners will be chosen at the end of the hop to receive the following:
