so... what was this about bleach???

Well, in an early post I wrote about playing with bleach. I wish that I could say I had more samples for you, but I have just one... I was going to wait and post it when my layout was finished, but it will be a while... I have quite a busy week ahead of me and am planning a baby shower, so all my attention is going to that at this time... but here is what I have done so far....This is how I started... I cut out the title, "birthday girl" with my Silhouette. I used re-postionable adhesive, (just a little bit...) to hold it to my paper. I am using Coredinations cardstock. I then used a mini-mister to spritz bleach all over the paper. I am working in a bath tub for this... and in "yucky" clothes... (bleach precautions...) I let it dry completely and this is what I found when I took off my mask.... drum roll please! As you can see... it didn't "bleach out" the color to white... it just lightened it! I really LOVE the look! Early, I mentioned that I was using Coredinations cardstock. I did this because I do believe that it matters. I tested bleach out on another scrap piece before I started. It did bleach out the color... so test your paper before beginning your project. Though I did this fully intending to get it bleached to white... I was pleasantly surprised with this outcome though. Well, have fun playing!

in the details....

This is a close up of my tools that I like to have with in easy
reach while I am scrapbooking and creating....
Adhesive - tape runner, liquid glue, glue stick, glue pen
Good Scissors - detailing and regular, Exacto Knife, Black & Brown pen, Black & Brown ink pads, & my Crop-a-dile, just to name a few...

The back side of my bag....

I love my Ribbon Rings! It is a great way to
store your ribbon and be able to see all
that you have... and it keeps it wrinkle free!

These were Woodwick Candle Jars. I loved the jars, so after we burned the candles, I cleaned them out and am using them for storage. Look for neat things around your home that could be used for storage, and are pretty! :)

This is how I store my paper. The left side is all my pattern paper, sorted by color. The right side is all my cardstock, also sorted by color. I like that I can pull out a draw and take it to my desk to find what I need.

Stickles! I work at a local scrapbook store. Some of my ladies told me that Stickles were suppose to be stored upside down... I love Stickles, and never knew that... and they work so much better when stored this way! They told me to get couplings from Lowe's and glue them down and it will help keep the Stickles upside down. These are 3/4" couplings.

Here is a close up of all my tubs that are in my closet. I have them sorted and labeled. This works well for me. I can take what I need to my desk, and easily put it back. Some of the tubs include: Bling, Chipboard, Grungeboard, Distress Inks, Stamp Pads, etc...

My Glimmer Mist! (I have a few more bottles that I have added since this picture...did I mention that I LOVE this stuff!) This is kept that on my shelf over my desk so that I can easily get to it.

O.K. this is where it gets bad... All of these tubs are my scraps.
I have them organized by color so it is easy to search for what I need.

So, this is my space. I have it organized to what works best for me. I hope that you have been able to get some good ideas and inspiration to bring to your space.

one word....

I have been playing with something that a friend told me about... I just started experimenting last night... and the results, though unexpected, were really cool... so, do you want to know what I am working with...... one word:
BLEACH

My Scrapbook Studio...

Ever since I have been into scrapbooking, I have always had to have my stuff stored in my big black rolly tote. Which was fine when I lived at home, (with my parents...) because I really did not have much then... When I got married, we moved into an apartment. I was able to keep it out a little bit more. I had a table that stayed set up, and my things on a shelf behind it. I shared the room with the computer desk and my husband's hobby table, (he was into building model cars at the time...). Now that we have bought our first home, I am absolutely blessed to have my very own room!!! Granted, we do not have kids right now... I think I will be devastated if I ever have to give it up! lol...

I have pictures of my room to show you and the ways that I have found best to organize my supplies. I have tried several things, and what you are about to see works best for me. It is functional and easy to find things and easy to put things away, so my studio can stay clean. (Though, there is one pile of stuff that needs to be put back, or a home found for it, that I have so cleverly hid in my photos!!!) So, without further ado...

This is my main area! My desk with my shelves that my wonderful husband hung for me, and my closet! This is where most everything is stored! I have close ups for you later on....

This is my purple wall! I love having the cube shelves to display things on and I have supplies and mini-albums and altered projects in progress stored in the animal print cubes. My husband was just recently given a surround sound system from his brother-in-law. So, I got my stereo to put in my studio. I love listening to music as I scrapbook and create!
This is the wall that you see when you walk into the room.
and...

This is the little cubby I have between the two closets in the room. There is a window that looks into our back/side yard. This chair is my absolute favorite! It was my mom's, she got it when she was in her early teens.

So, this is my scrapbook studio. I love being in here and creating. I am going to put the close ups on the following blog... I am still new to this, and find it difficult to insert photos after your typing... so I will try to insert the photos first next time...
