Eclipse Opening! & The I-Rock Tool

Here is the I-Rock tool! I recently got this amazing little guy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this tool! I have used it on layouts, cards, and yesterday I made a special shirt for myself to wear to the Eclipse opening. (Yes, I went to the midnight showing!) Here I am with my shirt... it reads, "Real Men Sparkle". (Yes, I am Team Edward). The tool is super easy to use and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to adhere the gems to fabric. The Imaginisce Blog has a great Q & A entry on the tool... The most tedious part is laying out your gems, but it is a small price to pay for such a fabulous tool. Look for more posts on this tool... it is definitely a favorite.

So, my question to you is:
Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Just Believe - June Sketch Contest for Imaginisce

Imaginisce has their June Sketch Challenge going on over on their blog. It is a super cute sketch!

Here is my take on the sketch. As always, Imaginisce has super cute paper. I actually took a Christmas line, Polar Expression, and mixed it with Scooter's Vacation, and then threw in a little Tim Holtz paper. One of my favorite embellishments on this page is the grommet with my husband's age highlighted. I have pop dotted his age to the back of the paper, so I have some reverse dimension going on! I has a lot of fun working on this layout! Thanks Imaginisce for a cute sketch and the contest!

how many irons do you have in the fire???

A Spice Rack that is getting altered....

The jars that go along with the spice rack.... do you see the flock? Oh I love Flocking and Glitter!!!

My project buckets... the left one is unfinished layouts, the right one has mini-albums and other altered projects in it...

A Grungeboard Album.. it is on the shelf, not in the right container... I have BIG plans for this guy!

This is a super cute mini-album. I am using Hambley Screen Prints and a line from The Paper Company.

and last, but not least, a layout for an Imaginisce layout contest...

So, how many irons do you have in the fire right now?

Red, White, & Blue Challenge!

Here is a card that I made for a challenge that is going on over at Heartstrings, a Red, White, & Blue Challenge. I used a stamp from My Heart Stamps For You. I thought that this little angel was so cute. I put her resting amidst the stars & clouds. The quote reads:

Good Friends are Like Stars
You don't always see them,
but you know they are always there.

I thought that this was an idyllic sentiment for my card. I colored in my little angel with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Paints. The star I painted in with Glimmer Mist. The cloud is was created using glitter and Stickles.

Sympathy Card

Here is a card that I made last night. Unfortunately, it is a sympathy card. Someone dear to me is going through the loss of her mother. The card is actually going to be a group card for several people to sign, so on the inside I made a little pocket to stick a tag in for my message. This way it could be private as well.

I used KaiserCraft Paper - Dutchess Collection, Regal & Cordinations "The Chocolate Box" in Blueberry. Making cards out of Coredinations Cardstock is neat because, for example, on this card, the outside is brown but the inside is blue! All the flowers used were white. I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist. The colors I used on this card were: Coffee Shop, Latte, Old Lace, Moonlight, & Wheatfields. The whole card is sprayed with Old Lace, inside & out. (I like shimmer...)
If you look close...

you can see the bead work that I added. I love beading. I paper pierced holes in my pattern paper, before attaching it to my card, and threaded my bead loops in & out to get this look. For the center of my flowers I used a brad for the center and bling for the rest. I colored most of the bling used with my Copics so they would be the color that I wanted. You can easily color bling with Copics or Alcohol Inks!

"Official" First Challenge for this blog....

Yes... You heard right! This is a challenge entry! Right now this is going to be just for fun, but I hope to eventually have challenges and give away prizes! We all LOVE prizes right? A wise friend once told me, "We won't go broke if we win our loot!" Once I get more followers, I will start to give away prizes!

So, without further ado... the FIRST CHALLENGE!
The picture you see below is one of me & my husband coloring with Copic markers. We were at a friend's house and we were coloring and then our husbands joined in!!! Of course we took pictures because nobody would believe us otherwise.
Here is the card that I made from the image that my husband colored. I actually really like it! I took his picture and trimmed it down and sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist. I then stamped Versamark all over the square and embossed with clear embossing powder. I matted the picture on Sugar Coated paper and adhered to my card. I stamped the background using three different dye ink pads from Memento. I added the ribbon in the same color order as my background image. I then stamped "happy" on the front and the word "birthday" on the inside of the card.
Products: Memento Dye Inks, Unity Stamps - Cupcakes & Sentiment, & Stampendous-Background Stamp

the challenge is:
Have your husband, boyfriend, or brother even, color a stamped image and then make a card using what they colored. Have Fun and remember when I get more followers I will start giving away loot! (Hint! Hint!)

Post a comment with a link to your blog or wherever your picture maybe...

life is.... oh yes, a journey!

Here is a layout that I did recently with a new technique on it... for me anyways... I sewed! Hard to believe... me, sewing.... but yes. I cut my polka-dot paper into a fun shape, (from a stencil I made from shaped pattern paper that I had bought). I then sewed around the edges. Don't look too close, you will see mistakes... but that adds charm! To get all the hearts I drew a heart and then traced it onto a bunch of different scraps from my scrap bucket. I used several different ribbons and just ran them across the page. I love the greens & blacks together!!!

I cut the title from my Silhouette. I then just doodled a fine line around the edges to add a little detail. In another font I cut out, "life is" and put it right over the first title!

Welcome Ranger to Cyberspace!

http://blog.rangerink.com/

The coolest! Ranger has a blog... and Facebook, and Twitter! Cyberspace welcome to ink heaven!

Weekend with Charlie

Here is a layout that I created using Coredinations Cardstock and KaiserCraft paper. The journaling is excerpts from Charlie's journal he kept on Facebook while he was staying with us.... (he had to have pictures to show his parents while they were away...)
I cut two giant circles from my circle cutter and then cut them in half to have a part on each side of my layout. I am really liking circles right now... more to come in future layouts I am thinking...

The white pattern paper you see is just the back of the blue pattern paper from KaiserCraft. I love double-sided paper... except it always makes me buy more! lol...
Hope you enjoyed.
