Srapbooking is good for the soul...

Good Morning Creative Loves!

Today I am going to share some scrapbooking layouts that I created last weekend. Throughout this week, I will go into detail about how I did some of them and techniques I used. If you have questions, leave them in the comments and I will incorporate them into the step out posts.

I hope your New Year has been wonderful so far. I have found myself in my studio more these past few weeks than in the past year, and I am loving it! I have realized that as much as I love all papercrafting, mixed media art, art journaling, altered art, and bible art journal, my passion is scrapbooking. It brings me so much joy reliving my memories as I document them with a creative twist.

The layouts below are from The Peabody Rooftop Parties that my city has every Summer. Our talented friends with Cruisin' Heavy have been playing it for the last couple of years and we always go out to support them. It always is an evening of friends, laughter, good drinks & music, dancing, and many memories made...

I used plain cardstock, Authentique Pattern Paper "Renew" Line, Crafter's Workshop Stencils, Ink, The Revolution dicut machine, Epiphany punches, I-Rock, Corner Chompers, Xyron Creative Station, and so much more. It was fun digging into my supplies and using some that I have not used in quite a while. Stay tuned to see more details...

One more thing! You can follow me on Instagram at the_mad_inker and I am also on Facebook as The Mad Inker, look for the pink top hat!

Welcome 2019... Let's do this!

Good Morning Creative Loves!

It has been a long moment since I have been here. To be honest, I have not been in my studio very much this past year. My focus has been on ACL recovery and then renovating my home. I am still working on my home and will share a little about that later. I also have started a blog for my writings, it has been left behind a bit as well.

With the New Year upon us, I have been really thinking... I don't necessarily have resolutions, but more so, I am refocusing my life. I have a piece of art in my home that says:

"Find what makes you happy, and do it everyday"

I have not truly lived this and I can tell my soul has suffered. So, I asked myself, what makes me happy? The answer was really quite easy. Creating. Gym. Working on my home. Cooking/Meal Planning. Spending time with my family and friends. So I am refocusing my life around those answers. Adding in there a few personal goals that I have and that is going to be my 2019. This is it... it is simple really. Oh, and the most important: Get back on my walk with God and leave room for Him to come in and work His plans He has for me. I have not been doing that and that has made my soul hurt and my depression demons to come out and play.

So, with all that being said, I am back. I have been spending time in my studio. Scrapbooking and playing with my new Silhouette Cameo 3! My Christmas gift to myself. I upgraded from the original Cameo. Let me tell you.. I LOVE it! I cannot believe I have not been taking advantage of this amazing machine all the years I have had it... (since the very first Silhouette came out way back when!)

Here is a peak at the first layout that I did when I came in here to play the other day. More to come later...

Oh... and the photo of me at the beginning of this post, I am wearing the first shirt I have ever made with my Silhouette. I am addicted to the shirt making! I have several in the works for the gym.

It feels good to be back on my creative journey. This is really my passion. I started my blog back in 2009 and I remember why: to inspire others. I want to share my love for creating and scrapbooking with all of you. I want to pour my excitement out so that you can grab it and be inspired and excited about your creative journey. I hope that you will follow along, create with me, and together, we can explore all that this creative journey has to offer!

Happy New Year Creative Loves. Let us make this a year to remember.
