Welcome to this fantastic celebration! I am so excited to be able to celebrate fellow scrappers birthdays & anniversaries of their blogs. In this case, Nicole & Meighen. Congrats you guys! If you are following the hop then you have just come from Jenny's Scrapbooking Haven.
If you are here just to see me, (thank you!) you can go here and start the hop and see a alot of inspiration and awesome projects!
(HINT: Read all the way down... there is quite a BIG, well, real BIG annoucement at the end!!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~
We were asked to make a birthday project based on a Holiday. Well, I thought and thought, and decided to do....
"NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY"
So I put myself in the mind set of: If I were to throw myself an awesome birthday party with scrapbooking as the theme, what would I do????
The Answer to that question is as follows....
I would make a bunch of cute goodies to spoil my guest with! From invitations to thank you cards it would all coordinate.
Instead of a "birthday banner", I chose to do a banner to inspire! So I made it say "Create"! Very fitting for my Scrapbook Party!
Instead of a "birthday banner", I chose to do a banner to inspire! So I made it say "Create"! Very fitting for my Scrapbook Party!
I chose the colors pink & green because they just rock together! Throw in a little Zebra and you have the makings of the "Best Crop Decorations Ever"!
Here are the details of all that I made:
The Invitation:
The invitation is a tri-fold card that I made using an 11"x 7" piece of black cardstock as the base. Using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard I scored at the 3" and 8" mark to create my tri-fold. The decorative edge was made using a stencil. I cut my flowers out using the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge. The invitation information I designed using my Silhouette Studio Software.
The Banner:
The banner is one of my favorites. I have it hanging over my desk in my studio. It was cut out using the Silhouette. I ran the green layer through my Texture Boutique and then inked it with Distress Ink.
The Cupcake! (...and there is a funny story to this... )
The Silhouette has awesome cupcake wrapper designs. It is so neat to be able to even dress up your treats! It makes a yummy cupcake, even yummier! Now for the funny story... I was taking pictures of my display, and I paused to go check on dinner. When I cam back, my kitty, Bella, (she's only about 9 months old), was up on my display eating the icing! That silly kitty! Thankfully I could turn the cupcake around... because look at the damage she did:
The Guest's Goodies:
I want to give my guests something that they can take and use for inspiration. I got this cute little notebook for a dollar and some change. I added some green cardstock to the cover. I stamped on white paper one of my all time favorite Memory Box Stamps! I then stamped the flowers, (a Unity Stamp). Ribbon completes the look, and now my guests have somewhere to write all their inspirations & ideas !
For something fun & frilly that serves both as a place card and cup I chose to do wine glasses! I found these glasses at Kroger... marked down to a dollar! I tied ribbon to the stem of the cup and then added a little name tag. It was quick and easy, but so stinking cute!
Close Up:
...and of course a Thank You card for my fabulous, wonderful guests. This is a little 3x3 card . I used Hero Arts stamps to stamp the sentiment & background. I punched the flowers out and added bling to the center with my I-Rock.
I hope you have enjoyed my Scrapbook Party ideas! ...and maybe your even inspired now to actually throw a crop for all your friends! I have one last really, really important thing to say before you can go and hop to the next stop. Are you ready.....
IT'S A GIVE AWAY!
As I am writing this post I am at 194 followers. I am very thankful and blessed for each one of you. So... in thinking about a give away for this hop, I thought... "hmmm... I want it to be BIG!" so, I came up with a BIG idea... I want to reach 300 followers! In order to be entered into this give away leave a comment on this post as to what you did to tell your friends about my little 'ole blog. Please leave links to your blogs and/or Facebook page. I love looking at other blogs and meeting fellow scrappers. Remember this is going to be a BIG give away! You don't want to miss it!
The next stop of the hop is The Creative Stamper's Spot. Hop on over and see all the creativity that Jessica has to share!
Cute ideas, love the card and cupcake wrapper. Will have to try on my next cupcakes. I am a follower.
